Cremation Options

Battle Creek Memorial Park Association offers many options for the permanent placement of cremated remains. These options all include a lasting memorialization of the individual's life. Their name, date of birth and date of death will be on display for all eternity. In addition, all relevant information will be included in the Association's permanent record archives. The study of genealogy has become of major interest across our country. There is no better way to insure an individual's place in history than to choose one of the cremation options offered at Memorial Park.

The interment of cremated remains in one of Memorial Park's traditional burial spaces is by far the most popular option. This choice permits the use of newly purchased or existing family burial rights and includes permanent memorialization with traditional monuments and markers. This option also permits different family members to choose between traditional and cremains interments while still being able to be placed in proximity to one and other.

Oak Grove Garden is the newest cremation option. Opened in 2015, Oak Grove is a peaceful shaded garden specifically designed for the ground interment of cremated remains. Memorialization accommodates the standard single or double markers used throughout the cemetery.

Memorial Park offers several columbarium niche options for the inurnment of cremated remains. A columbarium niche is a permanent above ground chamber in which the cremains are contained. Columbarium niches are available outdoors in Memorial Park's Garden of the Cross. Indoor niches are available in the Memorial Park Chapel. Memorialization is achieved by lettering the niche shutter with the individual's name and dates. The glass shuttered niches inside the Memorial Park Chapel permit the permanent viewing of the lettered bronze urns contained within.

Mausoleum crypts located in Memorial Park's Carillon Garden mausoleum complex may also be used for the permanent placement of cremated remains. Memorialization is achieved by lettering the crypt shutter with the individual's name and dates. This option also permits family members to choose between traditional and cremains entombments while still being able to be place in proximity to one and other.

The permanent placement of cremated remains and the appropriate memorialization needs to be included in the overall cremation decision. When this important component is omitted, survivors are often at a loss about what to do with the cremated remains. So many times, taking the cremains home, only to be stored and forgotten, becomes the sad reality.

Pricing for these various option may be found in Service Fees and Property Pricing under the Products and Service Offerings tab. The staff at Memorial Park is always willing to explain the various cremation options and the importance of permanent placement and memorialization.
